38 Derringer a Well-Built Pocket Gun

Bought this derringer because it resembles the 38 Remington double-barrel derringer used by Richard Boone as Palladin in Have Gun Will Travel. Shot it 12 times last weekend with .38 hollow points from Bitteroot Valley Ammunition. It has a pretty good bite to it, but did not hurt my hand. One time, I was not holding it firm enough and it flipped out of my hand and hit me in the head!
The trigger pull is heavy, along with the hammer spring. For me, it shot about 12 high at 10''. I think this is because when the hammer is released, the substantial counter-torque flips the muzzle up as the hammer moves toward the primer. This gun could benefit with a lighter hammer spring and trigger pull - this is the only reason I rated it 4/5. Otherwise, it is a well-built, attractive little piece and I have been carrying it in my ACE ankle holster and sometimes forget that I have it on! This thing is intimidating and packs a good punch for its size, just make sure you are close and aim low!

I love this little gun. It's perfect for conceal carry(w/permit) and light enough that it doesn't bother me when playing at the park with the family; the caliper is perfect for stopping dogs or would be muggers.
Having said that, something should be done with the hammer, it's a little too big and far back to cock while holding the gun in its proper position for firing.
