Neat little micro gun
|
By John K. On 02/18/2009
I have the Cobra C22LR derringer in black powder coat with white grips. I have had mine now for about 3 months and have put about 250 rounds through it. This little gun is surprisingly well made for its price, though you won't mistake it for a Ruger or S&W. Its really not as difficult to shoot as it looks. Once I got used to the stiff trigger I could drill a soda can at 10 paces, which is outstanding for such a tiny gun. Loading and unloading is not as slow as you might think. Remember, put the hammer back on half cock before you even open the action upon firing!!
The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that .22 LR bullets consistently keyhole (strike sideways) at anything over about two yards. It is a derringer, a very up close and personal type of weapon, but would it really be so hard to give this gun some better rifling? The good news is that the gun is scary accurate with 29 grain .22 Short ammo, which doesn't keyhole. The .22 Short will kill any small critter you encounter and is just plain fun to shoot with its minimal noise and zero muzzle jump.
Overall this is a fun little piece to shoot and I'm quite happy. Cobra gives great customer service and all their guns have a no nonsense lifetime warranty.

cobra 22lr to 22mag
|
By Bcutt On 02/26/2008
this gun is sweet i love it! no doubt it beats throwing rocks but the best part is that you can buy the ceaper 22lr and then buy a 22mag barrel from cobra's main factory in utah for only 16$ plus $4.50 for ship'n' very reliable as any revolver or single/double shot gun you can buy. don't know actual spects but at 10 feet i can just bout put the second round through the first really would not recommend anything further. this gun is a last resort up close and personal kinda thing. I like it even more now that i figured out the barrle trick It also works for the 25 cal to 32cal these two are center fire so the fire pin stricks the shell in the center of the shell/primer therefor the 22lr and 22mag are rim fire and fire pin stricks the rim of the shell but it is still sweet two for the price of one just about ne how barrel swaps out with removing the one and only screw the barrel should pull out and put other one in and replace the screw and your good to go
